DamReg 1.1.0, December 2004

Improvements
------------
Import of data has been greatly improved by using components from TMS Component Pack Pro. This implementation does not use OLE automation and Excel is therefore not required to be installed. Excel import is now working with reasonable speed and is the preferred format, because it is independent of local setting for numbers and date and time (Windows Regional Options).

Text files can be imported with tab-separated or comma-separated values. Date, time, and decimal separators are detected from input data if possible and can be changed manually if necessary. The selected formats are saved in the project file (xml file). Input values that lead to reading problems are marked in the table to facilitate corrections.

The project file itself now uses a standard set of formats for date, time and floting point numbers. Earlier versions used formats from Windows Regional Options. Project files from previous version are still read with local formats for compatibility. The name of the data file is now saved with a relative path. This makes it easier to move files around to a different location.

Corrections
-----------
Missing values can now be represented by empty fields or by blanks. Blanks gave an error in previous versions.

Changes
-------
Example files and examples in the manual have slightly changed and are newly organized in directories.

Known Restrictions
------------------

- Excel Import: Excel import is implemented with OLE and works only if you have an English version of Excel installed on your machine. The implementation is sometimes slow and does not work in all cases.

- Selection of tables in Report: Tables in the report have to be selected as a whole. Selecting all or some of the cells of a table is possible but copying to clipboard does not work. This is a restriction of the underlying TRichView software.

- Page breaks in the Report may occur right after headings. Again this is a restriction of the underlying TRichView software. However, the report can be exported and imported to Word, where additional formatting can be done.

- Formatting of numbers in Tables is not supported.

- The number of time steps for the startup period is calculated from the startup time at the beginning of the data. This number is used even if the startup period actually starts at some later time. If time steps are nonuniform this might lead to somewhat longer or shorter startup periods than actually required. From a practical point of view this restriction is negligible.
